SAINTS BE PRAISED! PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA!

I can't stop the goosebumps!

I sit here in sheer amazement...

"Congratulations Mr. President!"

And yes, I cried. Happy tears, happy tears.

Hope IS alive!  You can't help but see it on the faces of the two million folks who made it to Washington, D.C. for "The Moment".

And to think President Obama's victory got its kick-start right here in ol' Ioway but a year ago this month...my first caucus...my first stint as a county convention delegate...hoofing it door to door to "GOTV (get out the vote) the weekend before the election...

I can't stop smiling as I watch the parade...

Black and white. Young and old. Joyful tears. Hugs. Cheers. A spirit of hope for the future...

The second best thing about today -- watching George Bush fly off into the sunset in a helicopter. But I digress.

Anyway...amid all the the terror and tragedy that befalls our modern world, a peaceful heart I have tonight.

O Ba ma!

Saints be praised!

I love that you say, "Hope IS alive!" Do you remember at the 2004 Democratic National Convention when they chanted, "Hope is on the way"? Since that election I have said, "Hope died November 2, 2004." But alas, hope just got lost. It found it's way again November 4, 2008 and finally arrived January 20, 2009. Here's to hoping that hope abides with us a while!

I must also say that my second favorite part of inauguration day was watching W fly off into the sunset. I was in New York City (watched the inauguration in Times Square -- very cool!) and was so amused to join quite a large group of people who stopped on a street corner to watch Bush get in the helicopter and leave for good. There was much cheering and jubilation!

Darling! Hello! Welcome to The Home Stretch! Yes, W just seems like a very bad dream now...I would now like to see Rush Limbaugh fly off in a helicopter...but that's another story. Hope all is well! Miss you!
